Peer-to-peer guidance is a remote service that complements in-person and virtual care through increased care coordination and access to specialty care. Utilizing an online portal, members can request and receive a specialist’s opinion about a case, reducing travel burden and unnecessary referrals.
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health’s Mission Control coordinates the transfer of all in-scope patients into and out of our hospitals. Our goal is to place patients into the right bed at the right time for all patients entering our care sites, and this service can be extended to Care Network members. We do this with the support of emergency and internal medicine physicians whose job is to arrive at the best evidence-based patient logistics decisions.
