Overview
Our obstetrical care program is designed to strengthen the confidence of hospital OB and emergency departments in delivering safe, high-quality care during obstetrical emergencies. Tailored to meet the unique needs, resources, and challenges of each independent hospital, the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health OB quality and safety program ensures your providers and staff are equipped to manage obstetrical emergencies with skill and confidence.
Partnering with our clinical consulting team means direct support for your OB providers and staff, helping them identify and bridge gaps, implement solutions, and ensure safe and high-quality care during obstetrical emergencies. The program includes:
- Reviewing and updating relevant department obstetrical policies and protocols.
- Facilitating hands-on simulation practice and debriefing of obstetrical emergency scenarios.
- Assessing and optimizing equipment and supplies for obstetrical emergencies.
- Strengthening teamwork, clarifying roles, and improving communication.
- Coordinating with first responders and neighboring hospitals as needed.
